Er. Sudhir Kumar Sahu is one such remarkable personality.
Born on 9th October 1965 to Sri Sarat Kumar Sahu and Smt. Jagyanseni Sahu, his journey began with a strong foundation in education and discipline. He completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering in 1988 from College of Engineering & Technology, OUAT (now OUTR), laying the groundwork for a lifelong career in infrastructure development.

His hunger for knowledge never stopped.He pursued M.Tech in Structural Engineering from Karnataka State Open University, and later an MBA in Finance from Sikkim Manipal University. Alongside, he mastered multiple computer technologies through NIIT — blending engineering with digital adaptability.

Three Decades of Engineering Excellence

In 1994, he joined the Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, as an Assistant Engineer. Over 30+ years, he served in various critical capacities across major water resource projects.
He retired on 31st October 2025 as Additional Chief Engineer, Hirakud Dam Circle, Burla — overseeing one of the most iconic engineering marvels in the world:

Hirakud Dam — the longest earthen dam in the world.

Managing dam dynamics, structural integrity, and water resource systems, he played a crucial role in safeguarding livelihoods, agriculture, and regional development.But engineering was only one dimension of his legacy.
